What’re the best educational toys for toddlers out there?
As a parent, I have asked this question to myself time and time again whenever I shop for toys for kiddos. Believe me, it is a difficult question to be asking as we all know that shopping for toys these days can be overwhelming due to the influx of toys in the market. So many choices to consider- brands, prices, usefulness, how much your child would enjoy a particular toy and such..
I tend to lean towards the educational aspects of a toy. Both my kids being toddlers, I skim through the best educational toys for toddlers review sites, check Walmart or Amazon reviews on a toy I am thinking of buying, or ask other Moms about a toy of interest etc..you know the drill!
Usually it is a hit or miss after all said and done…Either my kids would have a blast with the new toy in the house or they discard them as fast as they got to lay their hands on it.
Over the years,we have come across some great toys together that are worthy to be recommended to others.
For example, I am so impressed with this Imaginarium Marble Race set which my son got as a birthday gift from his aunt! He was instantly drawn toward it the moment the Race set was unboxed. Kevin was always keen on building stuff. He takes all his toys apart (sometimes even the gadgets he sees around the house) and put them back together. It was a fun game and he loves doing it.

So naturally, the Marble Set presented him possibilities. It was very easy to assemble too. In no time, Kevin started putting the curved tracks together in an endless choice of designs. Kevin’s imagination broke through new boundaries as he tested different layouts and forms with the race set. Even Krista joined in the fun and helped her brother out in erecting impossible structures! I am telling you, I love watching those two in their concentrated efforts of creating pathways for the marbles to race by- talk about hands on discovery and open ended play! So much freedom and I love that about Imaginarium Marble Race set. In my opinion, this toy is one of the best educational toys for toddlers. Learn as well as have fun- best combination, a parent like me will look for in a toy.
Moving on…
Another one of the best educational toys for toddlers which we have experimented with is Imaginarium’s Mountain Pass Rail Road Set. Included in the playset is natural wooden tracks that can be configured in different ways, mountain pieces that can be separated to make two smaller mountains or one big mountain, train cars, signs, wooden figures etc. I got this one for Kevin two Christmases ago and he is been playing with it ever since! Score!
Best part? He is not bored with it, yet!

Kevin creates tracks that pass through the mountains, a farm filled with animals and a town that has a police station, fire house and a school! Sounds like fun, right? Indeed, it is! I can see my son’s brain working as he set up the scene to his liking, changing it around as much as he wants without even realizing hours passing in between! Occasionally, I join in and add a twist of some kind- like a twig (posing it like a tree of course) on the tracks and all the wagons stop in the middle of nowhere. I ask him how the train can move forward? He says, call for help from the fire house! My smart boy 🙂
If you are in search for the best educational toys for toddlers that can spark creativity and imagination by play in them, I strongly suggest Imaginarium Marble Race Set and Mountain Pass Rail Road Set (100 pieces) as both these toys are tested by little toy testers at my house and approved!
As a parent, I am pleased with the experience these two toys has provided my children. Both the Marble Set and the Rail Road set are entertaining as well as educational-like I said earlier, best combination ever!
