Battery operated or wax votive
Ribbon of choice (choose a festive holiday color such as red, green, gold, or silver)
Scissors
As mentioned, we found the cranberries at our local market for $1 a bag. The other crafting supplies all came from Dollar Tree. Our total cost for this project was just a few dollars, and we had plenty of supplies left over for other projects or to create several of these if we wanted to.
Once you have your supplies, you are on your way to craft this beautiful holiday decor item! Gather the kids if you wish, lay your materials out on your work space, and prepare to begin.
Directions
1. Begin by pouring the fresh cranberries into the glass votive holder. Do not overfill it. Instead, try to fill it about ½ way full. This will leave you plenty of room for your votive.
2. Nestle the votive into the cranberries. You want it to be nice and snug in place, as well as resting evenly. This will help it burn evenly if you are using a real votive.
3. Add some ribbon to the handle for some extra color. Just choose a ribbon of your choice, cut a length, and tie it on in a bow.
4. Light or turn on your votive, and your cranberry votive holder is ready to be displayed.
You can craft a whole collection of these cranberry votive holders and line them up on a mantle or bookshelf. Or, give them as gifts to family, teachers, and friends. Whatever you choose to do with them, they are sure to make the perfect holiday gift or décor piece. And as you can see, they are not only festive but quite frugal as well.
