Easy Homemade Caramel Sauce- Recipe

For years I have purchased numerous brands of caramel sauce and syrup and rarely found one that I thought tasted the way it should.  Cheap squeeze bottle varieties left much to be desired but always managed a place in the refrigerator door.  More expensive brands although having a better taste still didn’t quite give me what I wanted.  Yet I could go out for a special coffee or dessert and always find this rich, delicious caramel sauce that added the perfect addition to what I was having and made my taste buds crave for more.  So I set out on a quest to create my own Easy Homemade Caramel Sauce.

Easy Homemade Caramel Sauce

Ideally anything I create homemade will have minimal ingredients and minimal tools needed.  I read and tested countless recipes that included double boilers, candy thermometers, twelve types of sugar, butter and of course all the different hints of spice or extracts.  I narrowed the recipes down to two that I felt were simple, didn’t require a lot of money or ingredients but also satisfied that rich taste I longed for.  One version of caramel sauce recipe included sweetened condensed milk and the other one included whipping cream.  Only one had cinnamon.  I decided to adapt the two and create one that satisfied my taste buds perfectly and allowed me to mix it up in under 10 minutes.  I hope you enjoy this home made caramel sauce  as much as I do! 🙂
