Using just a few candy canes from your local dollar store as well as some other common crafting supplies, you can make your own Frozen inspired candy cane ornaments perfect for gift giving or decorating your tree with. Here is one of the ways you can make your Frozen themed craft ideas into a reality!
You will see that they are so easy!
Here is what you will need
Blue and white swirl candy canes ($1 per box at Dollar Tree dollar strores)
Hot glue and hot glue gun (regular craft glue will not work)
Ribbon for hanging in blue or silver (we used some blue metallic ribbon as well as a silver pipe cleaner for hanging)
As you can see, these are all common supplies and most of them can be found at your local dollar store or on Amazon for that matter. You can also check your local craft or retail store for these supplies if you don’t have a Dollar Tree store near by or not comfortable shopping online.
Directions
1. Begin by deciding if you want to keep your candy canes wrapped or unwrapped. Unwrapped allows you to see the colors better and adhere the candy canes better. But, if you have younger children or animals who may be tempted to eat them, you may wish to keep them wrapped.
2. Apply a generous amount of hot glue to the ends of the candy canes. Attach them together, crossing over each other so they create a heart shape. You may wish to practice making this shape with the candy canes first before gluing them this way.
3. Once the candy canes are pressed together and dry, you can prepare to add your ribbon. Just run it through the candy canes and tie it into a bow. You can add a silver pipe cleaner as we did for a little more support when hanging your ornament.
Once your candy canes are nice and dry and the ribbon for hanging is in place, you can go ahead and display your Frozen inspired candy cane ornament. Children will love the Frozen inspired colors and the beautiful heart shape. You will love that you whipped these up in no time and using dollar store supplies. It is a win/win for everyone!
You can tie these Frozen inspired candy cane ornaments onto gifts, hang them from your tree, or just craft them with your kids on a snowy day. Either way, you are sure to have fun creating them together.
Gather your supplies and give these frugal and fun Frozen inspired candy cane ornaments a try.If you are aiming for Frozen themed craft ideas this holiday season, these candy canes are a must try! They are the perfect craft for any child who loves all things Frozen and who is ready to get into the spirit of the holiday season.
