Bonnie is an excellent teacher of blog monetization and her methods to successfully make money from your blog is truly stunning by the simplicity and practicality of it.
Over to you, Bonnie!
Hello to all my new friends at A Momless Mom! I’m so glad I have the chance to chat with you today about monetizing your blog or simply put, how to make money from your blog! I love chatting about blogs and how to make them catalysts for opportunities. It’s great to connect with you – now let’s get down to business!
Are you struggling to monetize your blog? Are you wondering how bloggers get paid?
Have you tried? Or maybe you’re just starting out and it feels so overwhelming?
Don’t worry you’re not alone and you CAN do it. We can do this together!
How to Make Money from your Blog
I talk to clients all the time who are frustrated with the little or lack of income their blog is generating. It takes so much time. They don’t have help. They have too much going on at the same time.
Does any of that sound familiar to you?
How to Make Money from your Blog
Well then here is one way to make a blogging plan that really helps you get it all done AND generate the income you want too. Sit back and read up on how to make money from your blog!
1. It’s All in Your Editorial Calendar
Success as a ‘Getting Off the Ground, One-Woman-Blogging-Show’ requires multi-tasking. We absolutely must know how to effectively multi-task. If you’ve never heard of an editorial calendar or maybe you’re not sure how to use one, don’t worry! I’ll show you how to get started right now AND why it’s such a powerful multi-tasking tool for monetizing your blog.
2. How do bloggers get paid? Monetizing Your Blog Requires Revenue Streams
Revenue streams are what bring home the bacon. You have to know how you’re making money before you can actually make money.
My favorite revenue stream is information products. You build it. You set the price and profit-margin. You control when and how to sell it and how often it’s available. No one else is calling the shots. You don’t have to wait for the dream sponsor opportunity to come along. You aren’t relying entirely on ads and you get be in total control.
Isn’t that what you want? Me too. {Although control is really relative 😉 }
This kind of control is sufficient to jump-start a decent blogging income and get you on track to more.
3. Skillfully Crafting an Editorial Calendar Makes it Easy to Create Your Own Information Products
It’s true. Editorial calendars in the Hobby to HOT! world are far more important than just organizing your blog posts and setting deadlines.
Our editorial calendars drive our product creation and generate almost entirely the blogging income at Hobby to HOT!
This is where the multi-tasking comes in so powerfully.
4. Combining a Revenue Stream and Editorial Calendar to Make it All Work!
Since generating your own information products is hands down the most efficient, sustainable way to generate a regular income through blogging, here is how you do it with an editorial calendar:
Decide what kind of information products you can create and sell
Outline what you’ll offer in your information product
Apply your outline to your editorial calendar
Doing this will help you not only create a revenue stream for your blog that you control, it will also help you generate content and products at the same time.
Ok, I’m Ready to Do This, What’s the Next Step?
Here are the steps I give my clients to work on. Consider it a jump-start coaching freebie on how to make money from your blog, just for my friends at MomLess Mom. 😉
1) Brainstorm what type of information products you would like to create.
2) Determine which of those information products you would like to create will be hot sellers among your readers
3) Pick one – the one you know will be the best seller. Remember, we aren’t going for Amazon top seller or NY Times best author – we’re focused on monetizing our blogs. All you need to worry about is what your readers will be interested in buying. They are your buyers.
4) Dedicate a specific amount of time six days a week to devote to your information product creation. If you are wondering how bloggers get paid, your search ends here.
This time absolutely must be consistent. It’s not a nicety. It’s a necessity. You should also focus on your information product creation during your high-functioning hours. It doesn’t need to be ore than 30 minutes.
Just make sure it’s not scheduled in after the kids have exhausted you, your day job hUltimately, you’ll be able to compile all your blog posts, make some edits and voila! You have your information product and you’ve primed your readers to want to buy it!
Of course, every blog post shouldn’t have every solution. But it should have enough to teach your readers, hook them and keep them coming back for more.
Then, when you create your final information product they can pay to have all the steps in one place – organized and simple to apply whatever your topic is.
And that my friends, is the jump-start way to create and rock your very own information product, generate content for your blog and make money doing it all at the same time!
Learn more about how to create your own information product and make money from your blog like a pro at Hobby to HOT!. I’m looking forward to meeting you there!
Toodles!

So, you turn a bunch of your “how to” blog posts into something like a self-published book that can be bought on Amazon?

I find it challenging enough to blog once a week. I do like the idea of monetizing my blog with informational products though. I have a book written that I could start with.
I went to the link you provided ‘Hobby To Hot’
I clicked there on blogs and I didn’t see any blogs.
What do you blog about? Who pays you for blogging?

It can be a serious challenge to monetize your blog. You really have to learn your audience, what resonates, and how to communicate to them in a way that incentives them. That can take time…
