How to use Linkedin to Market and Promote your Blog

Connect with Like Minded People

If you are looking to take your blog to the next level, be sure to connect with like minded people. LinkedIn is filled with business owners and entrepreneurs. LinkedIn gives you the opportunity to connect with people who can really help you brainstorm and start thinking outside of the box. You might also find a really awesome social media job using LinkedIn!

Complete the Profile

When you first set up your LinkedIn account you will want to complete the profile. The first thing brands and business owners are going to look at is your profile. If your profile is not completed they will probably move on to the next person. Having a complete profile could mean getting a great blogging job or some additional traffic to your blog. Once you have the profile completed start making connection with other LinkedIn users. Building connections will help give you more exposure!

Join Groups

If you are familiar with Facebook then you probably know how groups work. Well there are groups on LinkedIn as well and I highly suggest joining a few of them. I only suggest joining a few groups at first and focus on being as active as possible! Remember LinkedIn is all about building connections, the more active you can be the better.

Try to join groups that are of interest to you or represent what your goals are.

 Update Your Status

Lots of people sign up for LinkedIn and then never do anything with it. Please do not be one of those people who has a blank LinkedIn account. Be sure to update your status on a regular basis! Ask questions, leave a link to your most recent blog posts, let the LinkedIn community know what business adventure you are up to or anything else you deem appropriate. Keep in mind that LinkedIn is a professional social media network so keep it clean and professional!

Do you use LinkedIn? If so what do you think of it so far? Has it helped your blog?

    1. Kristen! You do get traffic from Linkedin, but not like the bunch you get from pinterest or Twitter or facebook.. Yes, groups could help the bit too… but again, there are good days and bad days when it comes to traffic 😉

  10. I’m one of those lame people with a blank linked-in account. Someone years ago wanted to friend me so I signed up for it. I actually haven’t even been on the account site. I don’t even remember my password. I have avoided it like crazy, but I may check it out someday soon and get it going. This is a great post to help me do it!

  11. It’s a little surprising that I am not Face booked, tweeted and linked. 
LinkedIn remains the one social media platform that is actually more popular with Professionals than the general public.

But I like LinkedIn, I have to change my ‘No Presence’ on social media!

    Thank You

  12. Thanks for the post! It’s bookmarked for me to come back to tomorrow! I’m about to drop out tonight! It’s been a long day.
