KFC Introduces Exciting New Flavor-The Sweet Chili Crunch!

One of the memories I have about KFC is the impromptu family gatherings. Oh, we have pretexts- like celebrating a birthday, or a milestone of some kind or just spending an afternoon playing Wii or Xbox.

KFC chicken buckets will arrive in style and we huddle around the dinner table trying to get our shots at the delicious chicken pieces. In the background, there is soft music, kids playing games laced with conversations and laughter from the adults- all enjoying the togetherness of the family!

I can even remember the warm glow from the fireplace and how it radiates a certain kind of contentment and happiness in everyone.

Oh! And let’s not forget the times when KFC  came to our rescue to serve us a yummy meal on busy week nights when no one wanted to step into the kitchen to make supper. Take out nights are fun, if you ask me! 🙂

To me, KFC means family. It means quality time and fond memories. And of course, bucket loads of chicken!Breaded and fried, tasted to perfection! When I thought, KFC cannot get any better than this, I heard an exciting news from KFC Canada camp. And my first thought was, “Really? Are they seriously going to come out with even better recipe than the original one?”

That’s right! KFC is introducing a brand new flavor called the Sweet Chili Crunch! And I along with six other awesome bloggers received the inside scoop! With the help of this exclusive, behind-the-scene access to KFC’s kitchen, we learned about their cooks’ commitment to making the world’s most famous chicken recipe the “hard way”.

What is this “hard way”?

Well, if you are anything like me, you could be probably thinking that KFC chicken is nothing but fast food. At least, that’s what I thought until I got invited into the KFC’s kitchen. At the kitchen, I learned  how KFC buy their fresh chicken from local suppliers, cleaned and cut.

I also listened as they described the twelve hours marination process (very much like our home cooking, I might add) that the chicken undergoes to deliver the best flavor and experience possible to their valuable KFC customers!

Later, I witnessed and even assisted the cooks to bread the already marinated chicken and  fry it just like the way we all like it in their state of the art kitchen 🙂

And then some glazing to top it all off and voila! The coveted Sweet Chili Crunch Chicken was ready!

As it happens, all KFC cooks across Canada undergoes robust training process to be the best in their jobs. At the end of the training period, they get rewarded for all their hard work  with a certificate! Our one day at the kitchen, where we learned to make the KFC Sweet Chili Crunch chicken the hard way also fetched us something…yup, that’s right!

I am a certified KFC cook now. And I have my certificate to prove it! How cool is this? 🙂

Now a few words about exciting new flavor called Sweet Chili Crunch.

So, you can really truly trust my words 🙂
