Okay, I will be honest. This recipe was supposed to be for Christmas. Hello, Peppermint and Candy cane?
But holidays were so busy I just couldn’t manage to share it with you. Yesterday, on taking a second look at all my unpublished drafts, this one popped up! On a closer analysis, a bulb went off in my head. I am like hey! why not I make my Marshmallow treats the perfect Valentines day dessert idea? It fits right? The pink oreos? The Hershey Kisses are a dead giveaway if you ask me. So that’s what I did. Posting the recipe just in time for Valentine’s day!
Enough with the explanations now. Take a look below to make your own batch of Peppermint Oreo and Candy Cane Kisses Marshmallow Treats.
Peppermint Oreo and Candy Cane Kisses Marshmallow Treats Recipe
Supplies Needed:
- Candy Cane Kisses
- 5 Peppermint Oreos
- Large Marshmallows
- 2 Small Dishes (One Microwaveable Safe)
- Sucker Sticks
- Wax Paper
- Crushed Candy Canes (optional)
Directions:
Begin by unwrapping as many kisses as it takes to fill your small microwaveable dish.
Next, place your sucker sticks in the end of as many marshmallows as you need.
Place a sheet of wax paper on a large plate or flat pan. Something that will fit in the fridge.
Place the dish of kisses in the microwave and heat for 30 seconds at a time until they begin to melt. Stir the kisses in between each heating session.
Once the kisses are nice and creamy, dip your marshmallows on the sticks as far in the chocolate as you prefer then tap them on the side of the dish to let the excess fall off. This make take a few seconds.
Set each marshmallow on the wax paper with the stick up in the air. Allow them to cool for a few minutes.
While the marshmallows are cooling, place your Oreos in a food processor and chop them until they became like finer crumbs. Place them in your second dish.
If the marshmallows are still a little gooey but not “drippy” then they’re ready to be dipped in your Oreo mixture.
Once dipped in the Oreos, place them back on the wax paper and place them in the fridge for about 10 minutes to harden.
If you prefer chopped candy canes, you can throw your candy canes in a baggie and smash them into smaller pieces.
Place the pieces in a dish and follow the same instructions as you did for dunking them in the Oreos.
Hope you end up making these delicious Peppermint Oreo and Candy Cane Kisses Marshmallow treats for your loved ones.
Have a love filled and sweets induced Valentine’s day friends!
