I got this amazing opportunity to review Nikon’s 1 J3 camera just a few weeks ago. The 1 J3 is Nikon’s latest addition to the Nikon 1 series. Nikon as you all know is a world leader in digital imaging and photo imaging technology and for that reason I couldn’t wait to check out the features of Nikon’s new 1 J3 which hit the market for the first time back in February.
I was amazed at the remarkable simplicity of this camera coupled with the beautiful design and the stunning images it delivered. The shooting modes and controls were extremely user-friendly and I found it quite easy to use those features to my advantage while capturing life’s beautiful moments.
One of the modes available in this camera was the Motion Snap Shot. This feature enables the option of capturing a quick passing moment without blurring the image. I found it pretty cool as I struggled with this detail in the past with my cameras. With 1 J3, that was not an issue at all.
Nikon 1 J3 is also equipped with built-in Creative Modes including Panorama, Selective Color, Miniature and Night Landscape. The other commendable modes that are available along with the Creative and Motion Snap Shots are Auto Mode, Advanced Movie and Best Moment Capture. The Best Moment Capture Mode has two dynamic features- the Slow View and Smart Photo Selector. The Slow View enables the user to press the shutter button half way down once the focus is achieved. This will help to capture a live action five times slower than normal speed. The Smart Photo Selector helps the shooter to capture up to 20 shots and then automatically goes on to identify five best images from the lot. Very cool, right?
The I J3 has a 14.2 – megapixel CX-format with Advanced Hybrid Autofocus (AF) system and records Full HD (1080p) video. The LCD screen is 3 inches wide and has an integrated Flash that can be tuned to function automatically or manually based on the results you want.
All in all, I really loved Nikon 1 J3 as it proved to be a keeper in capturing life’s best moments while unleashing your creativity as the eye behind its lens. At the MSRP of $499.95, this awesome camera comes in white, black, silver, beige and red color.

I love the color of this camera. I have a Nikon from 2008 and it still works great! Definitely worth the money.

I love my DSLR, but honestly, I’d love to have another point and shoot, especially one that has the qualities of this Nikon. They are just so much easier to take along! Thanks for sharing your review.
