At one time or another you have probably came across a blog that is posting about all the cool stuff they are getting. Have you ever wished you were getting some awesome merchandise as well? I think most of have had a little bit of jealousy at one time or another. But, now it’s time to put that jealousy aside and start getting some awesome swag for yourself!
How to Pitch and Work With Brands
Start Slow & Small
If you are new to working with brands you will want to start slow and small! Don’t shoot for the stars just yet. Keep your expectations low and realistic. Starting off you might only be getting some bags of chips or inexpensive hair supplies. Do not let this discourage you, in fact you should embrace it! Do your best with every single review and the bigger brands will notice.
Follow other Review Bloggers
Knowing who to pitch is one of the biggest battles. When you are just starting out, you will most likely be unsure of who you should pitch. You might even be a little scared of rejection, but not to worry there are several brands ready to work with you. Start off by following other established review bloggers. Go back to some of their first posts and see who they were working with when they first started out. More times than not these are companies that will gladly work with you!
Write an Awesome Pitch
Once you have a list of brands you would like to work with its time to write your pitch. Your initial communication with a brand should be short and sweet. There really isn’t a reason to send a brand all of your info up front. If a brand wants to work with you they will ask you for any additional info. Here is an example pitch email:
Hello,
My name is INSERT NAME and I blog at INSERT BLOG URL. I’m always on the lookout for products that my readers would benefit from and products that are family friendly. I feel that COMPANY NAME has wonderful products that my readers would enjoy learning more about. The majority of my readers are women between the ages of 25 and 40 with children looking for the best products for their families and themselves. I promote all of my reviews on my blog, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google +. I also offer the option to do a video post along with my blog post.
I am also open to hosting a giveaway should your company want to do that as well. I feel this would be a great opportunity for my readers and your company. I look forward to discussing the opportunity for a review/giveaway with you.
